We just shipped something we’ve wanted for a long time: transcripts that include participant emails.
Why is getting participant emails hard?
Most services try to identify speakers using names alone. That falls apart quickly: names aren’t unique, display names can be anything a participant types in, and fuzzy matching is unreliable outside of English. What should be a simple question: “Who actually said this in the meeting?” often doesn’t have a clear answer.
With our calendar integration, Recall.ai pulls in the participant list directly from the meeting invite across Zoom, Meet, and Teams. That lets us reliably attach each speaker’s email address to their transcript segments, no fuzzy matching, no guessing. And wherever you get participants in our API, you’ll now also get their emails too. That means you can get participant emails both in real-time and after the call.
Because this is bundled into the flat-fee calendar integration, you get it automatically at no additional cost.
What can you do with participant emails?
Having participant emails tied to transcript data opens up a lot of practical workflows. You can send each person a follow-up based on what they said or were assigned. You can push transcript data straight into your CRM and have it automatically match the right contact. You can generate per-user action item summaries, or keep auditable records of who said what for compliance purposes. In short: transcripts become much more useful when you know exactly who they belong to.
How to get access to participant emails with Recall.ai
All you need to do is enable Recall.ai’s calendar integration. Once it’s on, participant emails are included automatically.
You could build this yourself, but it adds another moving piece to maintain. If you’re using Recall.ai, it’s already included with the calendar integration. If you’re not on Recall.ai adding this to the list of todos either gets expensive with calls to third party APIs or costs your team time trying to build yet another thing in-house. Save the time building this and spend it building all the things that having participant emails unlocks.
